Purpose
Ensures dialogue with local, state and federal elected officials. Creates a forum for Chamber members with an interest in legislative action supporting their businesses. This committee recommends a slate of legislative priorities to the Board of Directors who vote in support of an annual legislative agenda reflecting the membership. The committee plans monthly Legislative Briefings with Local, State, and Federal Representatives and co-sponsors the Chamber’s Legislative Day in Jefferson City in partnership with Eastern Jackson County Chambers of Commerce and the State of the Schools luncheon in the fall.
Details
- Meets the third Friday of the month, 8:30 AM
- Legislative Briefing follows committee meeting at 9:00 AM on in-session months
- Time commitment: Attending one half-hour meeting monthly & as needed for other projects throughout the year
- Committee is open to join year-round
