Ways to include DEI practices in your business
- Treat everyone with respect: One of the simplest ways to promote DEI in your workplace is by treating all employees with respect and dignity.
- Create an inclusive environment: Create an environment that allows all people to feel a sense of belonging, respect, value, and support.
- Create a robust mentorship program: Provide employees of underrepresented groups with greater exposure to mentorship opportunities.
- Allocate resources based on employee need: Ensure that resources are allocated based on employee need, not just equality.
- Start small: Start by selecting one best practice and doing it well. If you’re able to start by making diversity and inclusion a strategic priority, that’s a great start.
